Cooper facing one-game ban Empty Cooper facing one-game ban

Post by map88 Mon Apr 11, 2011 1:16 pm

North Queensland backrower Gavin Cooper is facing a one-match ban after being charged with a dangerous throw by the NRL match review committee.

Cooper was charged over his 14th minute lifting tackle on Gold Coast prop Ryan James in Friday night's 22-12 win to the Cowboys at Dairy Farmers Stadium.

The former Penrith forward will miss one game with an early guilty plea, but the ban would double if Cooper unsuccessfully contested the grade one infringement.

The Cowboys have until midday on Tuesday to lodge their plea.

I didn't see what happened. Someone who saw it, can you tell me if it's worth a ban?

He picked the player up and dropped put him above the horizontal. Nothing more then a penalty required for that, but then while lifting Ryan Jame above the horizontal he dropped him on his head/shoulder area.

Definitely worth a suspension.

Lets face it Ryan James isn't a little boy, It would take massive effort to lift him, so based on that, I guess that alone proves intent....... James is on my D.T No one should try and hurt him!
